First Call Fundraising Gala with Keynote Speaker Grand Chief Ed John
First Call Fundraising Gala with keynote speaker Grand Chief Ed John

You are invited to join First Call on the evening of February 1, 2018, and enjoy words from our featured guest, Grand Chief Ed John of Tl'azt'en Nation, First Nations Summit Political Executive and former North American Representative to, and Chair of, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

Also at this year's gala, Raffi, who turns 70 this year, will receive the Champion of Child and Youth Rights Award at our annual gala on February 1--in special recognition of his contributions to awareness of children's rights around the world.

Our annual fundraising galas are an occasion to celebrate our child and youth advocacy as well as to raise much-needed funds to ensure we can continue to put BC's children and youth first.

We hope you will join us for an evening of good food, good company and the wisdom Grand Chief Ed John will share from his years of leadership and his deep understanding of the impacts of colonization and the child welfare system child on Indigenous children, families and communities.

EVENT DETAILS

What to Expect: Our annual First Call gala features a delicious Indian buffet dinner, a silent auction full of amazing gifts, tickets to arts events, getaways and more, a raffle with exciting prizes, time to mingle with old and new friends and the chance to hear and learn from one of BC's most devoted and respected child advocates.

Our 2018 Champion of Child and Youth Rights Award, Raffi, dedicated his music career to respect for the child as a whole person, and his busy career since as ecology advocate, entrepreneur, author and founder of the Child Honouring movement, has been driven by a vision of a world that would respect its young.

Child Honouring is both a way of life and a holistic organizing principle for healing communities and restoring ecosystems--for redesigning the whole of society for the greatest good, with the child in mind. Child Honouring is the children-first way of sustainability.

Join Raffi, keynote speaker Grand Chief Ed John, and hundreds of other child and youth advocates at First Calls February 1 fundraising gala in Vancouver.
