"JUST A KISS AWAY": TAMMY FAYE SINGS THE JAGGER/RICHARDS SONGBOOK 12/28 ENCORE PERFORMANCE
12/28 ENCORE PERFORMANCE SET FOR JUST A KISS AWAY: TAMMY FAYE SINGS THE JAGGER/RICHARDS SONGBOOK
Tammy Faye Starlite, whose sequential performances of key Rolling Stones catalog albums set attendance records last month at Pangea has announced an encore performance of "Just A Kiss Away: Tammy Faye Sings The Jagger/Richards Songbook". Her run of four consecutive Thursday nights in October at the upscale supper club with performances of Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street was a smash success with quite a few would-be attendees turned away each of the four nights.
By popular demand, she is going to mount what she's calling a ménage à quatre of key material from all four albums on yes Thursday, December 28th when she is likely to perform such selections as Sympathy For the Devil, Salt of the Earth, Gimme Shelter, You Cant Always Get What You Want, Wild Horses, Sister Morphene, Tumbling Dice, Happy, but maybe not those exact ones, as well as audience requests that may or may not be honored. She'll be joined by guitarists Keith Hartel and Richard Feridun and other top players.
Starlite recently told No Depression that her love for the Rolling Stones music led her, paradoxically, to initially pursue a career as a country singer thanks to Gram Parsons' role with the band. I wanted to learn about everyone who influenced them and were bright satellites in their orbit, she noted. She's now come full circle with "Just A Kiss Away" wherein she interprets Stones songs that she's cabaretized, so to speak, for a new era.

Downtown's intimate supper-club Pangea is the ultimate in alt, playing home to some of the best in alt cabaret. The New York Times recently called it a bohemian oasis not unlike the fabled Max's Kansas City from days gone by."
