In this charming, award-winning play by A.R. Gurney, we meet childhood friends Andrew and Melissa, whose lifelong correspondence begins with summer camp postcards. They become romantically involved as teens, and continue to exchange letters through their school years - and beyond. Spanning nearly 50 years, the two discuss the hopes fears, dreams and disappointments that have passed between them throughout their largely spearate lives.
Actors Don and Linda Schneider bring a lifetime of letters to life, creating an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what was actually written down.
