Divers Social - Cave Exploration and Diving in Mexico

Divers of Vancouver, We have invited Natalie L Gibb, cave explorer, to speak on January 26th, 2018. This will be a diver's social. We will have a reception and drinks on either side of an incredible presentation about the underworld of Mexico. It's a great opportunity to come out and meet up with other local divers while enjoying a surface interval.

This event will be at the CBC, Studio 700, in Downtown Vancouver. We will be serving Beer, Wine and Non Alcoholic beverages. One drink is included in the ticket price. The bar will be cash only. Light snacks will be provided.

SYNOPSIS

Submerged caves are one of the most mentally and physically demanding environments on the planet, and every one of my underwater cave exploration projects has taught me something valuable. In this talk, I share photos, videos, and stories my discoveries in Mexico's flooded caves and what I have learned from them. The talk is approachable for all levels of divers, and should be interesting even to non-divers. It runs approximately one hour with plenty of time for discussion after.

NAT'S BIO

Natalie L Gibb is the owner of Under the Jungle, a cave and technical diving center in the Riviera Maya. She is a full time cave diving instructor and explorer in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. With her exploration partner, she has explored and surveyed more than twenty cave systems in Mexico, including what was once the area's longest single-entry cave system.
