Word is out--The Great Alaska Craft Beer and Home Brew Festival in beautiful Haines, Alaska, is an event beer lovers won't want to miss! This two-day celebration of craft beer and food begins Friday, May 24 with a gourmet five-course dinner prepared by 2013 guest chef Travis Kukull of Seattle. Each course is specially paired with a distinctive craft beer (or two), introduced by the brewer who created it.
Saturday, beer enthusiasts from around the region gather in "Dalton City" for a Craft Beer Tasting from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The tasting features fine brews from Alaska, the Yukon, and beyond, poured by brewery representatives. Live music and great eats contribute to the festive atmosphere at this annual sell-out event.
Tickets for Friday's Gourmet Dinner and Saturday's Craft Beer Tasting are sold separately.
Other weekend happenings include a home brew competition, juried on Friday afternoon with awards at Saturday's Tasting; and the Slammin' Salmon 5K and 10K Fun Run Saturday morning.
