JUST A BOOK CLUB

JUST A BOOK CLUB, is a new one act drama by Fresno Pacific University student, Jesse Parr. FIRST TRY, his first play, was directed by Jerry Palladino, and opened the 2017 season in January, playing six performances to full houses.

JUST A BOOK CLUB is directed by Maricella Ayala de Puckett, Soap Co. House Manager, and co-produced by Jerry Palladino, Artistic Director, CURTAIN 5 TheatreGROUP and R.S. Scott, Executive Director, Soap Co. Fine Arts & Film.

Our drama is set in the home of Kimberly Middleton, played by Lori Hickey. Kimberly hosts a book club and is joined by three friends, Julia (Wendy Snyder-Crabtree), Penny (Cindy Layne), and Lily (Ashley Elizabeth McNeil).

Kimberly's husband, Jeff, recently died, and her friends are doing their best to keep her spirits up, while ignoring what appears to them is Kimberly's bizarre behavior.

Lily soon realizes what's really going on with Kimberly, and Penny seems to feel what may be actually going with the hostess, while Julia is only interested in where having another drink. What begins is a series of events where no one is who they really seem to be, as our mystery begins to unravel.

Furthermore, why is there a pistol in clear view of the audience throughout the drama. Attend JUST A BOOK CLUB and find out what is going to happen or what is actually happening????? To reveal anymore would spoil all the twists, turns, surprises and, of course, the ending!
