Amy Goodman is the internationally acclaimed journalist who hosts Democracy Now!, a daily grassroots global news hour broadcasting over more than 500 radio and television stations (KPFA in Northern California)and on DemocracyNow.org. Amy has received numerous awards for her work, including the Robert F. Kennedy Prize for International Reporting, the George Polk Award, and the Radio/Television News Directors Award, as well as awards from the Associated Press and United Press International. She lives in New York City.  Her brother David Goodman, also an award-winning journalist, is the author of six books and a contributing writer to Mother Jones Magazine. Together, they have written The Exception To the Rulers and Static, both bestsellers, with combined sales approaching 150,000.
