A Blunderhaven Christmas Mari's Kitchen
San Gabriel Valley Repertory Theatre is the only company in Los Angeles County keeping the art of melodrama deliciously alive, where dinner, a show and free parking come together in one place and where interactive fun does not need to be plugged in.
While dining on a three-course dinner, guests cheer on the hero, sigh for the damsel in distress, and let the villain know how they really feel. Can you help save the day?
Siblings Bertha and Sir Boris Blunderhaven a perfectly happy family except for the curse of clumsiness. And then theres Berthas fiancé, D. Maximus Dorkus who plans to steal Berthas inheritance and do away with Sir Boris. With the new maid, Betty Bloodhound, and the new butler, Percival Gumshoe, and the prerequisite nosey neighbor Gertrude Gossipmonger, the house is full for the holidays. Does the season of peace and brotherly love prevail or does the villain get away with, well, everything?
A deliciously sumptuous dinner is served between the acts and the actors perform around the guests. Performances are always family-friendly.
Meal choices (usually beef, chicken or fish, or vegetarian) are made when reserving. Special diets can be accommodated.
Parking is free and plentiful, the drive is short and traffic-free, and the fun is immeasurable, plus you get a good feeling knowing that a percentage of Dining Dramatically's net proceeds goes to a local charitable organization.
Performances are held at 3 local venues: Maris Kitchen (Covina) Dec. 2, 3 & 9, 10; More Dates & Locations to follow.
At Maris Kitchen, guests may bring a bottle of their own wine with the receipt.
The price includes the show and dinner which consists of salad and bread, entrée with vegetables, dessert, and drinks such as soda, coffee, and tea.
