Kid Freud, Arc & Stones, The Ivins
The Ivins

We've come too far to pay for a loss of who we are. So say Nashville, Tennessee rockers The Ivins in the chorus of Mountains from their incendiary new album The Code Duello, due April 28. Its this statement that acts as the battle cry for their brand of alternative - uncompromising, unapologetic and anthemic. Despite the album only arriving now, brothers Jim and Jack Ivins have already received glowing comparisons to the likes of The Killers, Stereophonics & Arctic Monkeys from places like AXS, Chorus.fm and Kings of A&R, among others, while also sharing the stage with artists such as Switchfoot, Rooney, Night Riots, Airborne Toxic Event, Parachute, Mae, From Indian Lakes & The Ataris.
Backed by a powerhouse team, The Code Duello was brought to life with the help of Grammy winner Michael Rosen (AFI, Papa Roach), Grammy nominee Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons, The Killers), American Music Award winner Bill Leverty (Firehouse), Interscope Records co-founder Beau Hill (Alice Cooper, RATT) and Anthony "Rocky" Gallo (John Legend, Carrie Underwood), as well as a stellar lineup of top notch talent from the bands original home of Virginia such as Pedro Aida, Andreas Magnusson, John Morand, Steve Barber, Ben Green and Alex DeJong.
Previously based in Richmond, VA and New York City, The Ivins are now residents of Music City. The future is wide open, as the band strive to make rock music that can be relevant, immediate and meaningful to music listeners in 2017 and beyond.

Arc & Stones

Arc & Stones is a rock band born in the heart of NYC, and raised in the southern soul of Nashville. Bringing an array of bluesy-soulful styles, Arc & Stones falls in-between the lines of Alternative genre-jumping, old fashioned, steam-rolling rock'n'roll. Members Dan Pellarin (guitar/vocals) Joe Doino(drums) and Dan Berry (lead guitar) have toured the country extensively. Whether it be dungeon-esque dive bars, or in front of 15,000 screaming fans alongside legendary rock act, KANSAS.
Arc & Stones released their newest EP titled Sunrise Surprise on March 31st, and sees the rest of 2017 touring and writing extensively.

Kid Freud

Nashville, TNs Kid Freud is the scuzzy brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Alex Tomkins, bassist Kurt Krafft & drummer Daniel Closser. Their fun, uptempo garage pop has drawn comparisons to Brit pop acts like The Kooks and The Arctic Monkeys, while adding glam elements akin to Bowie and T. Rex. Theyve garnered  a following in Nashville and have shared bills with The Weeks, DMAs, Broncho & more. With sparks of tender self awareness buried within burnout anthems and rock n roll bangers, these boys regularly leave people singing along after the music stops.
After releasing their first two EPs, the band decided to approach the song-writing process from a different angle, scrapping the bare bones approach for a more fleshed out, textured sound. Kid Freuds new process of building the songs brick by brick on their laptops, has resulted in a more mature sound that utilizes heavily textured layering, soaring guitars and colorful, flourishing synths.
Thematically, Tomkins lyrics address toxicity in relationships. In Shut Up & Kiss Me they beg for resolve  lighthearted in delivery, yet serious in their intent, the song is filled with smart hooks, visual imagery, and drama. On Unkind Tomkins turns inward and his self-awareness of emotional immaturity is confessed in an apologetic  sometimes playful, sometimes dramatic  way. At their core, Kid Freud write songs about the yearning for resolution and understanding. In the aggressive, partisan climate that exists in American culture today, they counter with tenderness and empathy.
The band took a DIY approach for the production  recording everything themselves in a friends basement and writing parts slowly over time in living rooms and kitchens. They were mixed by Jeremy Clark (Sol Cat, Okey Dokey) who let loose on adding his flare of modern textures. Weaving pop melodies and tender and playful lyrics into post modern rock bangers, these songs mark a new chapter in Kid Freuds sound.
Kid Freuds career has had its share of speed bumps. After losing their first bassist to grad school in Austin after the release of their first EP, Kurt Kraft  guitarist of Staying For The Weekend  stepped in to fill the low end duties and the band resumed momentum. For a while, life seemed to be getting in the way of Kid Freuds drive, and tension grew within the band as moments arose where they questioned whether or not to keep pushing. But with these new songs (and much falling out and making up), came a newfound appreciation of each other and a growing realization of their potential. While these singles are the first step in the right direction, the band is brimming with optimistic anxiety for the future as new songs keep flowing in with increasing maturity and depth. Kid Freud will be touring the United States heavily in 2018, simultaneously honing their songwriting and production abilities.
