Mindfulness practice emphasises embodied awareness, yet desire easily pulls us out of ourselves. Cravings and compulsions blur our boundaries, fear or loneliness disconnects us, we lose ourselves in fantasy and yearning.
This weekend is about exploring desire and sexual energy, compensating for the cultural shame, spiritual taboos and personal issues which often ignore this vital aspect of experience.
Meditation, discussion and relational dialogue exercises will support a gentle exploration, opening the senses to the creative, dynamic and enlivening aspect of desire. Areas of exploration will include:
- Your relationship with pleasure, relaxation and the erotic nature of our own bodily experience - Boundaries; when and how to negotiate wisely between availability and withdrawal - Embodiment and the inner dynamics between aloneness and contact - Exploring and defining our field of awareness
The exercises in pairs or small groups are non-sexual, highlighting dynamics of relating. Paired exercises will not require physical touch.
