Songs For A Cause
Nashvilles local talent -- Alyssa Newton, Garrett Moshier, Raquelle Blackwood, Jack Van Cleaf, Luke Olson, and Forrest Pike -- join together in a writers round for Songs For A Cause. They will be partnering with UNICEF to raise money for children impacted by the numerous hurricanes that have hurt both land and heart this year.

Alyssa Newton
Proudly hailing from New Mexico, Alyssa Newton is a junior Songwriting major and Religion & the Arts minor at Belmont. As a freshman, she played in the industry-judged ASCAP Writers Night. As a sophomore, she played Best of the Best as the winner of the Christian Showcase. She has led worship and entertained at youth retreats and conferences across New Mexico and Texas in her high school and college years and has opened for the band Unspoken at Lubbock Christian University. In April of 2017, Alyssa performed at the Las Cruces Country Music Festival alongside artists like Kacey Musgraves and Eli Young Band. Alyssa values lyrical cleverness and the unique way that sharing her stories connects her to people.

Raquelle Blackwood
Raquelle Blackwood is a songwriter from Rockwall, Texas. Raquelle is a writer, a guitarist, and the lead singer for a folk rock band called Blackwood Row. Recently, Blackwood Row played at Battle of the Belmont Bands and released their first single "Werewolf." Their EP of the same name is being released in December.

Garrett Moshier
Originally from Southwest Florida, Garrett Moshier is a Nashville singer/songwriter with drawing styles from pop, rock, to jazz and fusion. Drawing influence from heroes ranging from John Mayer to Guthrie Govan, he aims to portray a creative voice as a writer, vocalist, and instrumentalist that is fresh and inspired. His debut EP Summertime released this past September, and is available everywhere.

Forest Pike
At just 10 years of age, Forrest Pike taught himself how to play guitar and the New Hampshire born singer-songwriter has been perfecting his craft ever since. His music possesses a soulful quality, unique for an artist of the folk genre, drawing its inspiration from The Avett Brothers, Noah Gundersen, and Dawes.
In April of this year Forrest released his first EP, All We Have. The six tracks that make up the EP were produced with the help of fellow musician and friend S Grant Parker. Together they managed to take subjects such as love, spirituality, and the passing of time and make an acoustic album that stands out for its rich, rhythmic melodies and beautifully haunting airy vocals.
Though he only recently moved to Nashville, he has been captivating crowds for years with his inspired writing style. Still as successful as hes been playing solo Forrest strives to keep growing and evolving experimenting with rock and roll tones as he begins taking the stage with larger bands.

Jack Van Cleaf
Jack Van Cleaf is a singer/songwriter from Encinitas, CA, now based in Nashville. He draws influence from modern folk artists such as Gregory Alan Isakov and Nathaniel Rateliff, focusing on lyrics that communicate honest emotional experience and storytelling. Connect with Jack via Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date with his upcoming shows and releases.

Luke Olson
Luke Olson was born in May 1993 in Olympia, WA. He started a band with his brother called The Olson Bros Band not long after graduating from high school. In 2013, Luke and his brother Isaac won a national songwriting contest The Texaco Country Showdown with a song they co-wrote called Sunrise and they got flown down to Nashville and were introduced on TV at the famous Ryman Auditorium. Luke moved to Nashville in 2016 to continue to pursue a career in Country music and songwriting while finishing up school at Belmont in the songwriting program. Luke continues to play fairs and festivals with his band The Olson Bros Band often up in the Northwest and in Nashville.
