The Order of the Red Banner Dinner at Swine & Sons

Join us Wednesday, November 8, 2017 for a five-course beer pairing dinner featuring dishes by Swine & Sons chef Rhys Gawlak, matched with Cigar City Brewing's Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout and its 2017 derivatives.

Since its first batch of beer was brewed in March of 2009, Cigar City Brewing has introduced the world to some of Florida's most innovative and ambitious craft beers. One of the most sought after and highly rated beers in the CCB portfolio is Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, a Russian Imperial Stout released every August since 2009. The beer celebrates the life of Georgy Zhukov, one of the finest generals of World War II. We are proud to celebrate the 2017 release of Marshal Zhukov's with this five course food and beer pairing event - The Order of The Red Banner Dinner, co-hosted by our good friends from Redlight Redlight.

Introduced in 2011, The Order of The Red Banner Dinner celebrates the beloved Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout by organizing a five-course beer dinner paired with nothing but Imperial Stouts. The dinners celebrate the diverse flavors and aromas that can arise from a single base beer.

Marshal Zhukov's, the heart and soul of Cigar City Brewing's imperial stout lineup, is a midnight-black monolith boasting aromas of espresso beans and raisins with a palate full of bitter chocolate, herbal bitterness and dry toffee. Fudge-like without being cloying, roasty without being acrid and built to develop further complexity over time when properly cellared, Zhukov's holds a very special place with brewers and with craft beer fans all over the world.

In addition to 2017 Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, we're pleased to offer four additional new and/or rare Imperial Stouts to round out this year's Red Banner Dinner lineup. The lineup for the 2017 Order of The Red Banner dinner at Swine & Sons will be as follows:

2016 Bourbon Barrel-aged Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, 750 mL bottles (released on 11/28/16 exclusively to El Catador Club, 14.1% ABV)

2017 Bourbon Barrel-aged Marshal Zhukov's Penultimate Push Imperial Stout, 750 mL bottles (Marshal Zhukov's with coffee and vanilla, released on 3/1/17 exclusively to El Catador Club, 13% ABV)

2017 Double Barrel-aged Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, 750 mL bottles (Marshal Zhukov's aged in rum and bourbon barrels, previously unreleased, 12% ABV)

2017 Cognac Barrel-aged Marshal Zhukov's Imperial Stout, 750 mL bottles (previously unreleased, 12% ABV)
