Getting Down With Ida Tapper: Burlesque Floor Work
Thursdays February 21-March 21 (no class on March 7) from 6:30-7:30
Increase your versatility on the stage with level changes and floor work!
This 4-week series is designed to increase dancers' confidence in using floor work effectively and effortlessly. Throughout the series dancers will explore techniques to transition smoothly to and from the ground, movement vocabulary when on the floor, and improvisation with different musical styles.
Each class will start with core-strengthening/Pilates-style warm ups and stretching to increase flexibility and strength of the major muscles needed for floor work, followed by short dance combinations and improvisatory activities that use floor work and transitions to/from standing.
