It will be presented for two weekends September 28  October1 and October 6  8 in the Ollington Smith Playhouse on the campus of Texas Southern University.

Headlining the cast is Regina Hearne as Lena Younger. Ms. Hearne was featured as Ethel in the Ensemble Theatres Christmas musical, The First Noel. Ms. Hearne is an established singer and actress and she is completing her degree in Theatre in December 2017. Anthony August who won the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the play The Mountaintop is playing the role of Walter Lee that was originally played by Sidney Poitier.
