MCT 2018 SEASON SUBSCRIPTION
A season subscription includes one ticket per subscriber to each of the following five productions.

Mountain Community Theater is proud to announce its fresh and audacious 2018 season.

In March, we open with William Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," about the planning and aftermath of the assassination of the Roman Emperor, directed by the acclaimed local director Bill Peters. Bill last directed at MCT in 2003 when he directed an award-winning production of Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors." That was also the last time that MCT produced a Shakespeare play. We're delighted to welcome back both Bill and Mr. Shakespeare.

In May, Davis Banta will make his MCT directorial debut with "Assassins," the brilliant and multi-Tony Award winning musical about presidential assassins, with music and lyrics by the great Steven Sondheim, and a book by John Weidman.

We will again be staging our New Works Weekend in August, featuring a staged reading of a new play by a local playwright.

In September, MCT acting favorite Hannah Eckstein directs "Sordid Lives" by Del Shores.  This rip-roaring black comedy about white trash tells the story of a colorful family from a small Texas town coming to grips with the accidental death of the elderly family matriarch during a clandestine meeting in a seedy motel room with her much younger, married neighbor.

And finally, in November, we return after six years with our 10th production of our very own holiday favorite, "Miracle on 34th Street," the Play, directed by Peter Gelblum. Peter played Kris Kringle in the last two MCT productions of Miracle. This holiday favorite tells the heart-warming story, familiar to most from the classic 1947 film, of a gentle old man named Kris Kringle who believes he is Santa Claus and who uses kindness and generosity to convince a little girl and then everyone else that he is, in fact, St. Nick.
