Berkeley author Leslie Buck will do some reading from her New York Times reviewed memoir, Cutting Back--My Apprenticeship In The Gardens of Kyoto, wherein a successful Berkeley garden designer puts her business and personal life on hold, and travels to Japan to study with one of the oldest landscape companies in Kyoto, working in private homes, monasteries and an Emperor's garden.
