Cocktails and the Rat Pack

Celebrate Valentine's Day in Artisseur's original Richard Dorman FAIA mid-century residence with museum educator and chef Maite Gomez-Rejon of ArtBites as she traces the rise of entertaining in 1950's America, and how modern architecture, furniture and objects played a role in home cocktail parties. Prepare hors d'oeuvres and libations that would have made Frank, Dean and Sammy proud, then enjoy the party on the spectacular deck overlooking the city to tunes by old blue eyes.

Must be 21 years of age and provide valid driver's license upon arrival.

ARTISSEUR is a Los Angeles mid-century modern architectural space with a look to the future drawing inspiration from the past; a concept of social and cultural affinity where art, architecture, nature and community coexist.

ABOUT ARTBITES:
Maite Gomez-Rejon has a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Grande Diplome from the French Culinary Institute in New York City. Since 1995 Maite has worked in the education departments of such renowned museums as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, and the J. Paul Museum; and has worked as a private chef and caterer. In 2007, Maite founded ArtBites, art and culinary history combined with hands-on cooking instruction, which she teaches at museums across the country. Maite has been a guest on the Today Show, featured in Food & Wine magazine and interviewed on NPRs Splendid Table. She is a regular contributor to the HuffPost, Life & Thyme, and other publications.
