Concert II - The Clounds Receding
Seattle Modern Orchestra is pleased to host again composer Orlanda Jacinto Garcia with a new piece for violist and universtiy of washington faculty Melia Watras and SMO. This new work will be in the great company of Austria composer Beat Furrer and a master of the 20th century György Ligeti.
PROGRAM: Beat Furrer - Aria for soprano and six instruments (1999) - West Coast Premiere Orlando Jacinto Garcia - he clouds receding into the mountains for solo viola and ensemble (2017) - World Premiere György Ligeti - Melodien for chamber orchestra (1971) - Seattle Premiere
