Day of the Girl: Women and Girls in Conflict
Come to Mercy Corps Action Center on International Day of the Girl when Flora Bagenal shares a global perspective on women and girls. Bagenal is a British journalist and producer with 12 years experience covering conflict and crisis in Africa, Asia, America and Europe.
As senior reporter on women and girls for the global current affairs platform News Deeply she has covered a huge spectrum of stories relating to the lives of women in conflict and crisis around the world. Recent stories include a spike in teenage pregnancies in West Africa during the ebola epidemic, the dangers of over medicalized birth in parts of Asia and Africa and the recruitment of young girls to extremism.
Flora also produces and shoots short films and documentaries and is currently working on a film about surrogacy.
