Café Nordo Presents: Onerus
The year is 2046. Corporations have overturned the US government and Cascadia is the center of a tech hub where citizens are connected to the internet 24/7 through a Sync-Disc implant. In unfortunate side-effect, citizens have lost the ability to dream.
Enter Onerus™, a company that has developed a machine to harvest organic dreams from members of society deemed "deviant" for their resistance to the Sync-Disc technology and share them with compliant citizens. This fall, Nordo's Culinarium transforms into one of Onerus' Dream Viewing Rooms and our audience becomes those citizens.
In this world premiere written by Terry Podgorski and directed by Erin Brindley, guests will experience 100% Organic Dreams through all five senses. Dream sounds are provided by award winning composer Annastasia Workman and multi-nominated Gregory Award sound designer Evan Mosher. Chef Erin Brindley conceived of each dream's tastes, aromas, and textures. And dream visuals will be enhanced by the incredible video work of Degenerate Art Ensemble's Leo Mayberry.
Tickets to Onerus™ include the performance as well as a 4-course meal of 100% Organic Dreams. There will be the opportunity to upgrade to a paired wine flight at the performance which features a wine crafted by Chad Stock of Minimus Wines inspired by the world of Onerus™ and exclusively sold at Café Nordo. This marks a true milestone in our mission to celebrate the intersection of food and art.
Erin Brindley and Terry Podgorski created Café Nordo with their pop-up food theatre production "A Modern American Chicken" in 2009. They have since conceived 10 original immersive theatrical dining experiences that are unparalleled in Seattle, garnering critical praise and a loyal subscriber base. In 2015, they moved into a permanent venue called Nordo's Culinarium in historic Pioneer Square. Relying on relationships with local farmers, ranchers, fisherman, composers, actors, and visual artists, Café Nordo serves up modern cuisine while thrilling audiences with the history, myth, science, and politics of food.
Nordo's signature paired wine flights now will be available for purchase exclusively at the door. Your ticket price still includes the four-course dinner. The Standard Flight and Sommelier's Choice Flight are listed on the menu for your consideration.

This Verdicchio achieves great balance and lift, showing pure focus to the faint tropical and heady citrus notes, and a stony, mineral-driven finish.
Sommelier: L'Fay d'Homme Muscadet Sèvre et Maine (Loire Valley, France)
Considered one of the most beautiful, complex white wines in the world, this Muscadet beckons from the glass-- beguiling hints of white flowers merge with fresh herbs, hints of lime and a light edge of sea salt.

Sommelier: Minimus Onerus Red Blend (Oregon)
From revolutionary winemaker Chad Stock of Minimus and Omero wines comes this first-in- the-world red blend that will enrich and fool your senses. This is a dream, after all. Ask your server to add a bottle to your tab to take home, Cafe Nordo is the only location selling this particular bottle.
Orb of Light:
Chocolate Pâte à Bombe served with Feuilletine (contains gelatin & gluten. Substitution available)
Standard: Leacock's Rainwater Madiera (Madiera Island, Portgual)
So fresh and pure it "tastes like rainwater", this deftly shows off caramel, toasted almonds, green olive, and a touch of dried apricot.
Sommelier: 2000 Bacalhôa Moscatel De Setúbal (Portugal)
A very rare, 17 year old dessert wine. Rich, smoky caramel, pineapple, and dried orange peel cascade to the dusky spice finish. Despite the weight and intensity of this sweet wine, it finished with tingling acidity.
