Milwaukee Youth Theatre presents the performance of Esperanza Rising, a play based on the book by Pam Munoz Ryan. Esperanza is from a wealthy Mexican ranching family. After the death of her father, she and her family escape a cruel uncle and immigrate to California during the 1930s Great Depression. Working as farm laborers the family faces many hardships and challenges but remains hopeful that the future will be better. Directed by Maureen O'Hara.
