Tuckaway: Summoning the Future's Past
OUR EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
Step into history and roam the halls of one of Indianapolis' most storied homes, Tuckaway. Just like some of the most influential cultural icons of the 1920s and 30s, you'll be able to socialize, mingle, and discuss the most relevant topics of the day while enjoying food and drink, as well as a modern twist brought to the house by NoExit's innovative performance artists. This immersive experience harkens back to when former residents George and Nellie Meier would entertain such social elites as Roman Navarro, George Gershwin, and Amelia Earhart in their salon before bringing in the musicians to tango the night away. Perhaps you'll seize the opportunity to Charleston with the spirit of a past attendee, or you may even be fortunate enough to receive an audience with the mystical Mrs. Meier herself for a reading.
In the spirit of the many historied gatherings in Tuckaway's past, more than anything, this event is a party. Guests are encouraged to eat, drink socialize, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere Tuckaway provides. Throughout the evening, the performance will encompass the whole party. When necessary, feel free to move to a location to accommodate your view. But know that the spirits are playful, as soon as they appear they may disappear and you might not see every apparition. But that's ok! Trust that former party goers will guide you to the right place at the right time.
Special thanks to Joe Everhart and Ken Ramsay, who have offered to open their historic home in order to celebrate the enigmatic lives of their predecessors, George and Nellie Meier, Ken Keene, and their illustrious, notorious guests. All proceeds from the event will benefit NoExit Performance and the company's mission to open Indianapolis first co-op theatre studio.
