The American Bar and Last Call
HARLEY BROWN'S CAFE PRESENTS THE WEST COAST PREMIERS of THE AMERICAN BAR and LAST CALL

IN THEATRE MAGAZINE has called THE AMERICAN BAR, "A cautionary tale of family ties that bind, a unique story filled with rage and revelation."
Written by award winning playwright, MARK WITTEVEEN and Directed by TOM MARTINS.
The Cast includes: DANIELLE PERATA, KEVIN DOUGAN and NORMAN SIOPIS

LAST CALL is written by KURT WEITZMANN, who has been labeled a "COMIC GENIUS" by none other than The SF Weekly, and is directed by critically acclaimed
Director NORMAN SIOPIS.
The Cast includes: JOE MADERO and TOM MARTINS

"A well paced surprisingly moving evening of storytelling. Siopis and Co. could easily conduct classes on how to mount a show; their work here is terrific." Ricky Spears- InTHEATRE.

Siopis' talent for using specific moments to typify major events is what moves his audience. Peter Shaughnessy- BACKSTAGE

THE AMERICAN BAR:  A local friendly bar.  The time is the early 1990s. With the season turning and a chill in the air, a soldier stops in for a few drinks. The affectionate owner and her rough brother-in-law greet the soldier and the three get swept up into a vortex of deceit, chumminess, and confrontation.

LAST CALL: A man's bar changes, as does his world. Last Call is the story of a regular who is trying to hang on as the last threads of his life unravel. A pathetic and desperate man is kicked out of his neighborhood bar at last call. He then pulls a gun and holds the young and ineffectual bartender hostage with the threat of his own suicide. After a feeble attempt at consoling the patron, the focus turns to the young man behind the bar, and a game of cat and mouse begins and ends with two lives crashing down in a number of unforeseen circumstances. "Human nature is always a negative term."
