Hands-on History Days
Step back in time and experience chores, historic crafts, and a school lesson. The August date will have a Summertime focus, including a one-room schoolhouse lesson, the "Tossed Treasures" archaeology workshop, farm chores, and an opportunity to learn Scherenschnitte (the art of scissor cutting). October and November dates will have a Fall theme and include a one-room schoolhouse lesson, farm chorse, fiber processing, and folk art reverse glass painting.
Workshops run every 30 minutes and reservations are not required. The August date starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The October & November dates run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $11 per person. Landis Valley Associates are free. Ages 5 and under are free. Tickets are for one-time use only, but are good for any of the Hands-on History dates (Aug. 8, Oct. 19 & 26, or Nov. 2, 2017).
