Event
"Some Notes on Chaos" presented by ahdanco/abigail hosein dance company
In "Some Notes on Chaos", Hosein's powerful and elegant choreography, punctuated with sharp detail, examines the role of chaos in our lives. Organized into three acts, "Some Notes" deals with the repercussions of trying to control the inherently uncontrollable forces in our world, our bodies and our relationships. In a society that defines order, stability and control as the norm and teaches that chaos is synonymous with turmoil, madness, and confusion it is no wonder we create such grand defenses against the inevitableness of chaos in our lives: stifling our emotions, medicating our moods, and sabotaging our relationships all in the name of order. In their fifth home season, ahdanco presents a compelling program of modern dance premiers by artistic director Abigail Hosein, and including guest choreographers Nina Haft,Wendy Rein, and Shaunna Vella. With works featuring new, live music by Scott Simon and set design by visual artist Carrie Flemming, these performances promise to be an entertainingly stimulating experience for audiences.
