Phoenix Film Festival - Jake's Corner
Johnny Dunn, Heisman trophy winner and NFL star, retires suddenly after the tragic death of his parents. He moves far from the spotlight to an isolated town in the high desert of Arizona. Over the years, Johnny and the eclectic members of the town become like family. When Johnny's sister and her husband are killed, his peaceful life is altered dramatically. He is forced to care for his 10 year old nephew. Having never dealt with his own personal tragedy, he is unable to tell the boy his parent's are dead. He enlists the townsfolk to keep the death of the boys parent's a secret. When Johnny's lie begins to unravel, his nephew runs away, forcing a dramatic confrontation with his uncle.
