Breadcrumbs by Jennifer Haley examines the life of a reclusive writer named Alida who is grappling with Alzheimer's in the midst of writing her autobiography. Alida now must pin her hopes of completing her final work on a troubled young caretaker named Beth. As they explore Alida's complicated relationship with her mother, Beth struggles to earn Alida's trust amidst her increasing paranoia and memory loss. Breadcrumbs is both a dark mystery and a playful fairytale exploring language, memory, and the struggle to escape the often dark, lonely forest of our past.
