"Share the Love" A New City Initiative Celebration & Hootenanny
Looking for a fun and social responsible way to celebrate Valentine's Day? Well, you're in luck! New City Initiative is hosting their First Annual "Share the Love" Celebration and Hootenanny! A celebration of three years of New City's and our partners work to help end the cycle of homelessness.
The evening will include an African Drumming lesson, the chance to try your hand at jewelry making during an upstARTpdx creative co-op, and there's even some square dancing to live, local music thrown in. Bring a friend, date or come alone. We'll share the love with you regardless!
And don't forget to bring your appetite! Heavy appetizers, featuring sweet and savory chocolate dishes, will be provided by the Chefs of the New City Kitchen under the direction of Chef Tony Danna, President of the American Culinary Federation Oregon Chapter.
Needing a last minute gift? Stop by the UpstARTpdx table and purchase upcycled jewelry, pieces made by women who have experienced homelessness and are at risk of sexual violence and exploitation.
So come, share the love and some fun with everyone who's making the New City a reality.

Can't attend? You can also donate tickets so that some of our folks can enjoy the fun!
Doors will open at 6 pm, with activities starting at 6:30 pm.
Cost of tickets are $25.00.
NOTE: When buying your tickets, we encourage everyone to purchase a donated ticket(or two) so that those formerly homeless folks that have become part of your faith community can attend and celebrate with you.
Funds from the event will support the continued work of New City and the wonderful activities that you are an important part already of putting on!
