The term "Yiddishkeit" refers to a rich and diverse
cultural, linguistic, religious and literary world. In
this course we will explore Yiddish literature,
music, theater and cuisine, as well as the
influence of Yiddish on English vocabulary. Basic
Yiddish words, idioms and proverbs will be
presented and explained throughout all lectures.
