The Lion King
Childrens Theatre is for ages 4-12 and meets three hours a day, Monday through Friday for the four weeks in June. During this time, the participants work on a full scale, musical production that is performed for the public on the final weekend.
During this process, the children have the opportunity to sing for the Musical Director, dance with the Choreographer, and read from the script for the Director. The children are divided into groups, according to age and the roles they will be playing and given a group leader.
Children's theatre is a fantastic way for younger kids to learn, from the ground up, music, dance, and acting. They are exposed to the arts, some for the first time, and gain knowledge about the inner workings of the process. Children learn how to express themselves confidently, work as a team, and are able to see how hard work and lots of practice can become a full-fledged production... all while having tons of fun in the process!
