come and learn about the magic of naturally leavened bread /

across two days we will chat about, mix, shape and bake a number of basic breads giving you an insight into how sourdough bread is made and enable you to make and bake bread at home /


day 1 mon  9am-3pm /

topics covered /

sourdough starter maintenance
flour and grain variety
basic fermentation
hand mixing / folding / shaping
proofing / retarding

lunch, snacks and refreshments provided

day 2 tues  9am - 1pm

topics covered /

scoring and stencilling
baking in dutch ovens / tins / domestic and commercial ovens

brunch provided


everyone will walk away with their own sourdough starter, a pack of helpful baking formulas and tips, a bread stencil made on the course, a proofing basket and a bag full of naturally leavened bread
