Inanna's Journey /Rebirthing the Goddess Within
Inanna, 5th Century Sumerian queen, goddess of fertility, of the morning and evening star, makes every womans journey.
This workshop is staged as a women's archetypal ritual, combining ceremony with drama, dance, dreamwork, art, music and poetry.

DETAILS: Invited to attend the funeral of her sister's late husband, Inanna begins a descent to the underworld to pay her respects. Along the way, she is told she must divest herself of all outer attachments, all earthly roles and past identities. Once at her destination, Inanna is subjected to her sister Ereshkigel's rage and jealousy, embodied aspects of her own rejected self. Following this, Inanna is then left to languish in that dark womb of inner earth where she undergoes a profound metamorphosis. Mercifully, Inanna is rescued by her loyal handmaiden. With Ninshubar's help and support of loving sister goddesses in attendance, Inanna begins her symbolic ascent toward reclaiming her incorruptible power and divine sovereignty. Inanna is finally able to fully step into her authentic self, reconnect to her soulful muse, and rebirth the goddess within.
