Event
Taster Aberdeen
Slow Food Aberdeen City & Shire invite you to a very special evening and enjoy a Taster Aberdeen.
We will be hosting a producers market where you can come and chat to the people who grow and make some of the wonderful local food we have in Aberdeen and the Shire. In addition to being able to buy produce on the night, you will be eating samples from all of the producers in attendance, together with food made with Scottish Ark of Taste items and other seasonal ingredients. You will also be able to try some slow wines and locally produced drinks.
The event is being held at Gate 63 in NESCOL. Gate 63 is a college training kitchen and restaurant, and we are delighted that the food provided from the kitchen will be made by NESCOL lecturers and students, led by Slow Food Chef Alliance chef Lesley Gillespie who is based in Aberdeen.
Our event takes place to coincide with the Aberdeen University Mayfest weekend, and we are thrilled to let you know that Carlo Petrini, the founder of the international Slow Food movement, will be spending some time with us at our Taster. It should be a night to remember.
Confirmed producers include Udny Provender, Mortlach Game, Granite City Fish, Briggs Shetland Lamb, Huntly Herbs, Ingram's Homecure, Rizza's of Huntly, Coldwells Organic, Big Beefy's Biltong, Dean's of Huntly, Fierce Beer, Teasmith Gin, Summerhouse Drinks with more to follow.........
