In the early 1970s, before Roe v. Wade, before the Violence Against Women Act, middle-aged Agnes has turned her quiet bed and breakfast into one of the few spots where victims of domestic violence can seek refuge. But to Agness dismay, her latest runaway, Mary Anne, is beginning to influence Agness college-bound daughter Penny. As the drums of a feminist revolution grow louder outside of Agness tiny world, Agnes is forced to confront her own presumptions about the women shes spent her life trying to help.
Praised by the New York Times and The Hollywood Reporter, and written by Sarah Treem, famous for her work on the acclaimed TV series "House of Cards", this emotional drama explores life in the 70s as well as how people of different backgrounds and beliefs overcome it together.
