Third Thursday Cabaret: May 2017
Come one, come all, the Cabaret is here... the last one for a little while! The DFC takes a summer hiatus from our monthly romping ruckus, so May will be the final cabaret of the 2016/17 season. Join us once more for our open-mic style variety show. The theatrical surprises that come from our community range from the esoterically beautiful to the sublimely ridiculous; last month we saw a merkin lip synch dance act, inverse clowning of compassion, physical theatre of talking art, storytelling surprises, exquisite marionette puppetry combined with pop-up staging, and more. This month who knows? At the Dusty Flowerpot we LOVE to see you strut your stuff.
Support the DFC with your ticket fee! Third Thursday is *also* a fundraiser to help with the operating costs of the Dusty Flower Shop; the space used to produce the Parade of Lost Souls and support many other artists. We are offering a sliding scale price, in order to reach our goals of inclusivity and bringing more of you into the theatre. When youre a member of the DFC, you can Pay What Youre Able, $5 - $20. If youre a first timer, $12 online tickets are the best way to go, or $15 at the door buys your membership AND a snazzy card to show us next time.
Check out our new Dusty Jams: first Thursday of the month. A workshop for performers to develop material for the Cabaret! A space to play in preparation to present at the Cabaret.
Doors at 7:30pm, show at 8pm
Cash bar: beer & wine
Tickets: $12 advance / $15 at door, sliding scale if youre a member. (Some ticket fees apply with online purchase)
Location: #141-2050 Scotia St. - Near Main St. & 4th. Alley entrance: look for the wood gazebo shed and wheelchair access.
