Sustainability from Within
Restoring the planet and caring for our communities requires great inner reserves. Even the most inspired activist needs time to recharge -- deeply and completely. Mind-body practices of gentle movement, conscious breathing, and pure awareness can restore your energy, alertness, and calm.
This workshop will give you tools that you can use to start every day in a relaxed state and to find refreshment as you need it, even in the busiest of schedules. These practices, based on principles of Thomas Hanna's Somatic Education, will help you:
* Pick up your energy * Sustain a positive outlook * Listen more effectively * Keep your vision in mind * Sleep better * Travel with less stress
Instructor: Stuart Moody, MA, RYT, is program director of Green Sangha. Based now in Tucson, he co-founded the Mindful Ambassadors program of Campus Health at the University of Arizona, training students to share core mindful practices for stress reduction, improved mental abilities, and increased compassion.
Organization: Green Sangha is mindfulness-based activism. We are dedicated to restoring our sense of oneness, healing the earth and our communities through mindful practice and awakened action. Our programs include coastal clean-up, habitat restoration, mindfulness for youth at-risk, advocacy for waste reduction, and Mindful Leadership training for community activists, civic officials, and non-profit leaders.
