Travel Journals with Bel Mills
The lowly lunch sack becomes a smart travel journal in this new class by book artist Bel Mills. Bel will show you the steps for transforming paper bags, cardboard, and graph paper into a hip journal for recording travel memories. Youll see how the unique structure of a lunch bag can be leveraged to create main pages, mini pages as well as storage pockets for stashing postcards, tickets, receipts, and more. Though the class will focus on building the structure, backgrounds and pockets to later embellish and fill with your travel mementos, participants are welcome to bring materials collected on a recent trip to begin designing their pages, if time permits. The class will also include instruction on using the Turkish map fold to incorporate a pop-up map in your journal.
