Catalyst Rep presents Feral Boy
May with Catalyst is all about new faces as May is our guest artist month! This year, we are thrilled to welcome explosive local writer Bennett Ayres to Catalyst alongside our repertory team member, Zach Stonerock ( The Diviners, Tooth of Crime ) - this time in the director's chair with Feral Boy.
It was last year that Catalyst opened a season slot to submissions by local writer's and director's, when we staged Paige Scott's original musical, Lobby Channel. It was such a smashing success and full-filled our mission to help foster NEW work in Indianapolis that we want make it a thing. May is now reserved for guest artists to join the Catalyst team with new works.
Feral Boy is the story of Corbett, a recent college graduate, who finds purpose and direction through his friendship with a group of feral cats. But as his attempt to join the cats becomes an obsession, Corbett discovers that total freedom requires extreme sacrifice. Featuring not only Bennett Ayres's incendiary words and Stonerock's Indianapolis directorial debut, but also, original hand-crafted puppets by Indy's Patrick Weigand, Feral Boy can promise to be one of the most exciting premieres of this year's Indy stage season.
