After years of disciplined struggle to achieve success, up and coming oil painter, Abby Bolton, wins a prestigious juried art competition only to be blindsided by Loretta Faggle, who needs Abby's prize painting to change her sorry life.
Two
The Drill (Or, Civil Defense Is No Defense): A Play Concerning the Life of Dorothy Day by Laura Pittenger, director Helen Huff:
City Hall Park in NYC on June 15, 1955, the day of the states annual Operation Alert civil defense drill, conducted in case of a nuclear attack. Dorothy Day, noted Catholic anarchist, leads a protest against the drills and in the process, meets a young stranger.

An old woman and a teenager, both runaways, meet in a city bus station and discover an improbable common bond.
