Sense and Sensibility
A playful new adaptation by Kate Hamill of Jane Austen's beloved novel follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters - sensible Elinor and hypersensitive Marianne - after their father's sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable. Set in gossipy late 18th-century England, with a fresh female voice, the play is full of humor, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. SENSE AND SENSIBILITY examines our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?

Sense and Sensibility opens Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at the Marin School of the Arts at Novato High School, 625 Arthur Street in Novato. The show runs Friday and Saturday,. April 21 and 22 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, April 23 at 2:00 PM.  It also runs Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29 at 7:00. Tickets not sold online will be available at the door.  It is strongly recommended to purchase tickets online at www.brownpapertickets.com or by calling (800) 838-3006. Admission is $10 for students and seniors, $25 for reserved seats and $15 for general seating.  Please note that if you purchase reserved seats as well as  student/senior or general admission seats, your party will not be seated together.
