Oakland Animal Film Festival

Join Oakland Veg Week and Center for Animal Protection & Education (CAPE) for the second annual Oakland Animal Film Festival!
The evening will feature a series of both local and international short films featuring enlightening and heartwarming stories about animals:
*Called to Rescue, 1 hr. 14 min., inspiring glimpse into 14 animal sanctuaries in the US.
*Maybelle's Story, 10 min., After a lifetime of service providing milk on a family farm, Maybelle is given a second chance.
*Wildlife & Meat, 4 min., Eating meat hurts wild animals too - in a newsy, compelling format, this film asks viewers to consider leaving animals off their plates.
*Hope the Blind Goat, 2 min., a blind goat is given a happy life on a sanctuary.
*The Tarshis Award Winning Films, five short films between 30-90 seconds long won a total of $14,000 from the Tarshis Foundation. These films successfully and creatively portrayed the realities of the animal farming industry.
