Season Opener BBQ at Canoe

Canoes executive chef Matthew Basford will be serving up a whole hog barbecue with Terrapin Beer Co. on April 6th to celebrate the opening of the new SunTrust Park. Canoe is excited to welcome the Atlanta Braves to the neighborhood, with the new field located a mere four miles from the restaurant. Terrapin is the official craft beer of the Braves and Canoe is excited to partner with them for the upcoming season in different capacities starting with the Season Opener BBQ.

Chef Basford will roast a whole Georgia Ossabaw Hog and pair the hog with seasonal sides and Terrapin brews. The Georgia Ossabaw Hog is from Hamthropolgy, a farm featuring registered Ossabaw Island Pork from a natural, free-range, non-GMO herd. Their natural forage consists of rootings, vegetation, soft mast (muscadines, scuppernongs, fruits) and seasonal hard mast (acorns, etc) to round out their diet. The trademarked Registered Ossabaw Island Pork only available to fine restaurants and charcuteries, primarily in the Atlanta area.
Guests will dine out in garden in one of Canoes luxury white tents and enjoy the tranquil scenery while they learn more about Terrapin. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. on April 6th with passed appetizers and beers and the buffet will begin at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets.
