Encinal Jr. & Sr. High School Drama Department presents SISTER ACT-The Musical. Based on the 1992 film s, Sister Act tells the story of aspiring disco diva Deloris Van Cartier. Trying to work her way to the top in 1970s Philadelphia, Deloris gets together with a very toughand very marriedgangster boyfriend named Curtis Jackson. When Deloris witnesses him commit a murder, on police orders, she must hide out in a convent, whose parish has fallen on hard times. She soon butts heads with stern Mother Superior, as Deloris turns the nuns' choir into a show-stopping disco revue. Yet, Deloris finds her true calling working with the nuns. She helps resurrect the dusty convent while discovering a true sisterhood shes never known before.
The rollicking disco & gospel-inspired songs and hilarious, irreverant story have been a hit with audiences world-wide. SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!
