In search of reasons why women don't run for office Filmmaker Kiley Lane Parker interviews Richard L. Fox, professor and co-author of 'It Takes A Candidate' - Why Women Don't Run For Office' Parker discovers that political ambition and confidence are two defining factors as to why women don't run for office in the 21st century. This documentary follows Parker as she travels the country speaking to conservative activists historians and professors who discuss the difficulties of running for office, as wells as the 21st century being very different from 50 years ago and the importance of young women understanding where we've come from. Through Parker's journey we learn that parents and teachers are the number one factors when it comes to growing leadership skills and that society should do a better job at educating themselves and others about politics.
