Deckle Edge Workshop Techniques of Tenacity: Personal Discipline and Writing Success
Description: In this workshop participants will learn daily disciplines and strategies for nurturing long-form projects such as novels, memoirs, screenplays, and creative nonfiction to fruition. The outcome/product of this workshop will be a thorough understanding how to structure and manage time, stimulate creativity, generate ideas, and organize large scale writing projects.
About the instructor: James D. McCallister is the author of three novels, Kings Highway (Red Letter Press, 2007), Fellow Traveler (Muddy Ford Press, 2012), and Let the Glory Pass Away (Mind Harvest Press, 2017) as well as a dozen short stories and a wide variety of creative nonfiction. A two-time South Carolina Fiction Project honoree as well as a Faulkner-Wisdom and Saturday Evening Post short story finalist, McCallister adjuncts in creative writing at Midlands Technical College. In 2014 his papers relating to Fellow Traveler were accessioned by McHenry Library, University of California-Santa Cruz, as an adjunct collection to the Grateful Dead Archive.
