Baba Marimba is all about joy and movement performing African, Middle Eastern, Cuban, Brazilian, World Beat and original tunes that make you jump out of your chair and dance!
Baba Marimba performs high-energy dance concerts tempered with soulful and jazz-oriented numbers giving their shows the feeling of a trip around the world. While marimbas of all sorts are omnipresent, the band also has a great horn section with Heidi Wilson on alto sax and Mike Ankomeus on trumpet lighting up one song after the next.
The band also fewatures Mark Holdaway on guitar, kalimbas, and marimba. Mark is a master kalimba player and talented multi-instrumentalist.
Backing them up is Robert "Swami" Peizer on percussion, baritone and alto marimbas, and kalimba, as well as Michael Hollaway on drums and T. Greg Squires on bass, marimba and percussion.
