Hit Me Like You Love Me
Produced by Bahia Shortlidge Directed by Janice Allen and Courtney Gains
Featuring: Jessica Blair, Ksenia Delaveri, Shaughnessy Dixson, Jude Evans, Robert Fileta, Kyle Schroeder and Bahia Shortlidge
There is an EMERGENCY at the Sidewalk Studio Theatre. A writing workshop has just ended and one of the more verbose playwrights is threatening to finish his next "masterpiece." We've all seen them: Droning, horrible, overwritten plays that leave us not only want our money back, but our time. We had no choice but to dial 9-1-1.
The evening opens with Officer Mike Murphy (Robert Fileta) responding...the playwright (Jude Evans) is on the verge of completing his next disastrous play. Will Officer Murphy be able to save humanity from another verbose playwright?
Next, Miss Ksenia Delaveri will grace the stage performing "Much More" from "The Fantasticks" as an introduction to the Sex Goddess (Jessica Blair) who just wants to save mankind by becoming the next Marilyn Monroe. What could be wrong with that?
As the evening continues, Miss Delaveri returns with a performance of "Mama Who Bore Me" and the scene is set for young mother Debbie (Bahia Shortlidge) who finds herself in the emergency room after an accident involving her four-year-old daughter. The questioning by Nurse Sue (Shaughnessy Dixson) and the delayed arrival of her husband Freddie (Kyle Schroeder) increases tension and leads to a shocking decision that will change everything.
