Owl Woman and Rainbow Crow
Two mystical stories of courage and hope from North America - both enlivening our understanding of the inter-connectedness of all beings. To All Our Relations!

This month's Storytelling Sunday is dedicated to Standing Rock. At the beginning of the evening there will be a little update from Standing Rock following the initial victory to stop the Dakota Access Pipeline across native land. Colleagues of CoResist have been out to Standing Rock volunteering and there have been many difficult and also empowering moments for the community there. This event is to bring greater consciousness and send blessings to the community and their rights to protect their sacred land.

OWL WOMAN - Performed by Deborah Ward

There was a woman, who, when the moon shone its full silvery light upon her, became Owl.
The ancient goddess spirit Eagle, was trapped inside the from of Mouse. Lost in the mountain forest, the two meet.
A story of courage, lost hope re-found, and feminine power.

RAINBOW CROW - Performed by Daniel Balla

A Lenni Lepane (East Coast First Nation) myth of how fire came to Earth. A perfect story for the depths of winter - passed down through the generations and on to Simon Lys (Dark Mountain) from Lenni Lepane elders, who then passed it on to Daniel to tell. A tale of bravery in the darkest, coldest night - when hope is all but lost, and yet the spirit defies all belief.

With music from Ailsa Mair Hughes
