Owls: Nocturnal Birds of Prey
Enjoy this family-oriented class on the natural history of local owls taught by well-known naturalist Peter Leveque. Using museum specimens, owl pellets and recorded owl calls we will learn to identify local owl species by size, shape, coloration and their calls. Prey species will be determined by the dissection of owl pellets. A short walk will take us to an owl roosting box where we will see if anybody is home!
