Dying 2 Live
Back by Popular Demand- the hit inspirational stage play,"Dying 2 Live," will be returning back to the Austin Peay State University Clement Auditorium in Clarkville TN on April 19th for two shows only. This power- pact drama is a story of love, betrayal and redemption that will move beyond your heart and pierce right into your soul. Writer/Director, Sheri Fayton, inspired by playwrights such as David Talbert, Tyler Perry, and Je Caryous Johnson- exposes a range of relevant and controversial issues that will provoke an assortment of emotional responses from its audience in this mesmerizing drama. The production will also include an electrifying live band and soul-stirring vocals. The play centers around the main character, Vanessa, who is a depiction of the 'All American Dream.' She was raised in a two-parent, middle class home (Dad runs a thriving janitorial business, Mom is a homemaker), has just graduated with honors from High School, and received a four year track scholarship to North Carolina A & T. To top it off, she meets the man of her dreams (so she thinks). After completing college, Vanessa lands a job as an accountant for one of the largest financial institution, marries a very successful corporate attorney when her world starts to unravel. What seems to be a perfect life is not so perfect after all. Her close bond with her parents shatters after finding out they have filed for divorce demolishing 25 years of marriage. The happy home she thought she had been raised in- was all a lie. Even Vanessa's darkest secrets are about to be exposed. The beautiful, successful woman that her parents, husband, and friends thought they knew wasn't that at all. The pain of her past which affects so much of her present has turned her into someone who is hardly recognizable. The woman people thought had so much life--- was really lifeless! What is the remedy for so much pain? Vanessa eventually finds out. "Dying 2 Live" will be taking their stage production on the road in 2008. Phoenix AZ, Birgmingham AL, and Virginia Beach VA are among some of the cities this stage production will visit.
